It's a simple story, really.
The band formed in January 2007 when Louisa was having too much fun singing just now and then. She and guitarist Jim Keathley had been experimenting with a few tunes since the fall, and eventually were ready to branch out and play with a larger group. She pitched the idea to a handful of other musical friends who, to her shock and delight, said, "Yep."
Add a bunch of strings, a Belmont living room, some Sunday practices, a love of many different tunes . . . and there you have the Alternators. Within a few weeks, they had a date to play at Gravity Lounge. The band name and website came later.
